For Lionel of Estc hepainted The Expulsion of Adam and Eve fromParadise, The Descent from the Cross, and theportrait of the donor kneeling, which was longpreserved in the palace of Belfiore. After hisreturn to Brussels he received from Paul Pogio, aLucchese merchant established at Bruges, twentyducats of gold on account of these paintings. OnJune 16,1455, he was commissioned by John, abbotof St. Aubert
