Canon pointing out to sea from Heugh Battery on the Headland at Hartlepool. Heugh Battery is a former 19th century coastal battery, and now includes WW1 and WW2 modifications, it stands as a memorial to those lost during the great war. The canon which stands outside the main complex was captured from the Russians during the Crimean war.
