US Army Soldiers from Fort Dix, New Jersey prepare for the "MAD Minute" practice and fire demonstration as part of the International Infantry and Small Arms Symposium. A MAD Minute is an excessive display of firepower, when all involved fire their weapons. It's usually done more for show than effect. Soldiers fire M60 machine guns, 50 caliber machines and M16 rifles. In the background are two M113A3 Armored Personnel Carriers.
