Northern Ireland, UK - 9 June 2017 Giants Causeway is one of the great natural wonders of the United Kingdom. It is located on the north coast of Northern Ireland, in County Antrim. Its main claim to fame is over 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt columns, which sweep from ancient cliff faces into the sea. These startling and beautiful remains of ancient lava were caused by volcanic eruptions over 50 million years ago. Giants Causeway became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986.
