In the following August, attheir first meeting, Mr. Runals was chosen oneof the selectmen, and the following March wasre-elected ; also chosen to represent the town inthe State Legislature; was re-elected the follow-ing year. He held no office after this ; wouldaccept none. His advice was frequentlysought, freely given and safely followed bythose who succeeded him in public
