The movement in potted plants has shown a real increase, due to the ar- rival of potted pepper plants, prim- roses, cyclamens and begonias. A few geraniums are also seen. Ferns, es- pecially woodwardia, are making a nice showing and have been selling accord- ingly. Lilium rubrum and callas represent the lily family at present and there is no great demand for either. Good new carnations are hard to get at this time and there is little or no sale for tlie other grades of this flower. Various Notes. Fred Howard, of Los Angeles, was a trade visitor last week and he reports satisfactory trade conditions in southern California at this time. He says eastern florists are especially active in their demand on the growers for palms of potting size. Another visitor was A. Hoxton, of A. Hoxton, Inc., Yakima, Wash. The Art Flora! Co. has made a fea- ture of Roosevelt and woodwardia ferns lately and reports splendid suc- cess with both of them. There have been a large number of weddings recentlj' and the Hollywood Gardens have been getting their share of this business. This store handled one of the most attractive local affairs of the season, using huckleberry, maple leaves and dahlias to form a growing screen, candelabra and conventional rose trees to mark the aisle for the bridal party and red gladioli and various col- ored dahlias for the other rooms of the house.
