A percussion rifle, circa 1850. Rifled Damascus barrels in 14 mm calibre. The barrel rib is signed, "A. Legler in Neustadt". Golden line inlays in front of the snails. Back-action percussion locks with cock safeties. One set trigger. Tang, lockplates, patchbox lid, and furniture have fine leaf engraving, roe deer scenes and gold inlays. Beautifully figured and lavishly carved half stock. Ramrod missing. Barrel somewhat stained in places with slight pitting. Length 109 cm.
