Poehlmann's to Grow Pot Plants. It is announced that Poehlmann ^ros. Co., Morton Grove, will go into the pot plant line, growing blooming stoL'k for Christmas and Easter and ^ecorative plants, especially ferns, for the seasons between holidays. Under the direction of August F. Poehlmann, the plant growing will be in charge of C. Gr. Anderson, formerly with the Geo. Wittbold Co., whose employment was reported in last week's issue of The Review. Mr. Poehlmann plans, quite as a matter of course, to turn out pot plants of a quality and eventu- ally in quantity to compare with the company's output of cut flowers. Some of the stock for the start already has been ordered. It would seem that the Poehlmann Bros. Co. is taking a wise step, for Chicago never has had an adequate supply of pot plants of the better class. The few growers of these have done exceedingly well. Peonies for Memorial Day. One of the best posted peony han- dlers stated May 25 that the entire basement of the Western Cold Storage warehouse was being devoted to peonies, and that at a rough estimate he would put the number then on the floor at 25,000
