YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 11, 2017) – Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Tidespring (A136) pulls into Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka. RFA Tidespring is the first Tide-class tanker the Royal Navy has taken delivery of from South Korean shipbuilding company Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). Tidespring’s port call to FLEACT Yokosuka was a scheduled visit sponsored by the United Nations Command (Rear). FLEACT provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 83 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
