The Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) in Kyoto is a much loved, famous tourist attraction in Kyoto, Japan. Kinkaku-ji is one of 17 UNESCO Heritage Sites of Kyoto, Japan. It dates back to 1397, but it has burned down many times and the present structure was rebuilt in 1955. The golden pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) in Kyoto, Japan, is beautiful at any time of the year, but especially in the fall when the maple trees in the surrounding area turn red.
