During the short time that Fred Sperry has been manager of the firm the increase in business has been steady and consistent. He has worked up a business that is taking its place among the most successful in the city. Tassano Bros, have their new green- houses at Glendale complete and will begin planting at once. S. Murata & Co. report fine shipping business and are showing splendid mums from the north. Mr. Murata has removed from the city and now makes his home on Cedar street, Montebello. At the meeting of the Pasadena Horticultural Society, September 17, the matter of incorporation was again taken up and various questions asked as to the effect it would have upon present members. President Shields an- nounced that James McGilvray had promised to drive Treasurer Wilson over to each meeting to prevent his resignation on account of his taking charge of the Doheney place, in Los Angeles. His announcement was re- ceived with loud cheers. Mr. Mc- Gilvray urged the members to attend the smoker to be hfild by the society. Arrangements for the Pasadena fall show, to be held in Central park, Octo- ber 28 to 30, are under way. Among the special prizes offered are a silver cup for the best twenty-four cut blooms, offered by Thomas Chisholm, of the Pasadena Nursery, and a cash prize of $25, offered by the Germain Seed
