A UH-34 helicopter from the 222nd Squadron hovers above the "Rock Pile" tour, a surveillance post located south of the demilitarized zone in Vietnam. The helicopter performs an impressive one-wheeled landing on top of the 3rd Marine Division outpost. The Marines stationed at the post monitor multiple trails in the dense jungle used by North Vietnamese soldiers. Photograph taken by Pfé. E. Cole on September 26, 1966. Defense Department photo (Marine Corps) reference number A187836.
