Royals & Rice Restauarnt outdoor eating area in backyard of historic Royal Loan Office building in Linienstraße, Mitte, Berlin The Royal Loan Office is the only surviving royal loan office in the city. It was the first official pawn shop in the German area in 1784 and the historic brick building backyard connects Linienstraße 98 and Torstraße 164. It was used as a pawnshop until 1990 and has monument protection status. The building now houses a number of creative and media companies, various IT and software companiesand several restaurants and galleries.
