THE STATION WAS RE-MODELLED IN 1983-7 (ENGINEERS OVE ARUP AND PARTNERS) AND IS THE FIRST AIR-RIGHTS SCHEME IN LONDON. IT IS A BUTT-WELDED FRAMED BUILDING WITH CONCRETE BEAMS SUPPORTING A-FRAME STEEL TRUSSES OVER THE PLATFORMS.
