New Brighton, Wirral, UK 29th November, 2015. UK Weather Storm Force winds lash North-west Coast and the estuary entrance to the River Mersey. Storm Clodagh batters Britain with 70mph gales and giant waves batter the coastline.


Britain was battered by severe gales on Sunday as the newly named Storm Clodagh crashed into the coastline from the Atlantic. Gusts of up to 70mph were experienced around exposed coastal areas in the west, with winds in inland areas reaching between 50-60mph, particularly in northern England, and Ireland bearing the brunt of the storm’s impact. The Met Office had issued further weather warnings for Sunday evening, covering the whole of England and Wales.
