Many alumni arrived on Friday eve-ning, Oct. 8, and those on hand at thattime participated in a smoker. 412 THE PALM, December, 1937. GROUP PICTURE OF THE ALUMNI WHO RETURNED TO CELEBRATE THE FIFTIETHANNIVERSARY OF THE OHIO WESLEYAN CHAPTER The bulk of the arrivals were onSaturday, with most of the specialevents being- scheduled for that arrival, the alumni registered andwere assigned rooms which had been en-gaged by the committee from varioustownspeople. A luncheon held in the house for themen of the years 1887 to 1900 was agreat success, as all the living men ofthose years were present for theluncheon, and in most cases, for thewhole affair. The afternoon was to be spent watch-ing the football team battle Toledo, butdue to inclement weather many of themen preferred to sit and chat at thehouse. It is extremely difficult to adequatelydescribe the banquet, held on Saturdayevening in a local high school gym-nasium. The speeches of the faithfulalumni were very impressive. One of theoutstanding speeches was that of DeanHeckel of the University of surveyed the history of the Frater-nity from its foun
