Thesemicircular figure above the head represents the rainbow on whichgods are said to travel; it is appropriately introduced with Alosaka,who is said to have walked on it from the San Francisco mountains tomeet an Awatobi maid. A great part of the picture is taken up l)y a large rectangularfigure of a moisture tablet (pavaoakaci), an object worn on th(» hackby many personators.
