Mississippi A. & M. College, The Mechanical building is a substantial structure withiron root and sides, 100 by 50 feet. It is well equipped forwood and machine work. Adjoining it, is a similar one-story building 35 by 70 feet which is used for forge andfoundry work. A neat two-story building, with cellar for cold storage ofhorticultural products, stands near the residence of the Pro-fessor of Horticulture. In the upper stories are severalapartments in which tools, boxing material, etc., are kept,and in which the preparation and packing of fruits andvegetables for shipment are carried on. The building for the two Literary Societies and the YoungMens Christian Association, situated just opposite theLibrary, consists of three large and comfortable halls, eachcapable of seating from 150 to 200 students. The Mess Hall, SO by GO feet, is a one-story frame building,containing a large dining hall for three hundred studentsand the kitchen, bakery, and store-rooms used by the Steward. The
