Greenpeace protest against overfishing in the North Atlantic with activist on deep sea trawler with protest banner


Activists with, 'Stop Deep Sea Plunder' banner from the Greenpeace vessel MV Esperanza board the Lithuanian registered fishing vessel ANUVA to protest deep sea destruction and call for a moratorium on high sea bottom trawling,Hatton Bank, North Atlantic boats, the majority from EU countries, drag fishing gear weighing several tonnes across the seabed, destroying marine wildlife and devastating life on underwater mountains - or 'seamounts'. Greenpeace is demanding a UN moratorium on bottom trawling on the high seas.
