The "anchor monument" (Mindeankeret) is at Nyhavn, at the corner of Kongens Nytorv. It commemorates the 1600 Danish sailors killed during the Second World War. Every year on the 5th May, the day of liberation from German occupation of Denmark, an official memorial ceremony is hold.
