All animals showing goodbreeding and promise met a brisk demand, andrealised prices satisfactory to sellers. Geldingsrising four years old made from £45 to £60 ; filliesof same age., £38 to £80; colts rising three yearsold, £25 to £68 ; three-year-old fillies. £34 to £56 ;two-year-old colts, £i6 to £38 10s. ; two-year-old fillies, £15 to £82; and foals, £12 to £ Notes and Jottings The demand for Lincoln sheep for the Argen-tine is a continuous one. Last weeks reportsshow that more of the choicely bred sheep of thisbreed have left the country. These shipmentsinclude three choicely bred rams from Mr. HenryDuddings flock at Riby, and several other lotsof similar character. The importation of Lincoln sheep into the Ar-gentine during the current year has been a verylarge one indeed. The number imported fromJanuary 1 to July 31 last is given as head, asagainst 588 during the same period last notable increase, and one that it is sincerelyhoped may not prove to be in excess of thedemand. Tlie first sale of imported sheep held in theArgentine that has come to our notice is the oneheld by Messrs. Yariondo and Co. for Mr. JamesSidey on August 30. A dozen Oxford Down rams were offered, andthose sold realised excellent prices ; the best wereas follows:—£33 5s., £30 15«., £28, £26 5s., a
