In severe cases of stomatitis gavage may be necessary(see page 416). TONSILLITIS Tonsillitis is not common in infancy, but throughoutchildhood it is often seen. It is more common in thoseof a rheumatic tendency and in children who have enlargedtonsils. Exposure to cold and wet while the child is ina run-down condition is the usual cause.
