Marlboro Cigarettes are manufactured by the Philip Morris Company the largest cigarette manufacturer in the United States. In 2009 senators began debate on legislation called the ‘Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009’ that would allow the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to regulate cigarettes for the first time. One out of every five Americans use tobacco and it is estimated that smoking related diseases kill nearly half a million people a year which is more than any other preventable cause of death.
