The women who remain have formed an artist coooperative, embroidering the story of their separation. They call themselves Las Hormigas Bordadoras de Tanivet (embroidering ants). Luz Olivera holds her work. It reads: How sad to see so many migrants from different countries passing our town every day in search of the American dream.
