Terraced Houses at Sunderland Point
Sunderland Point is a small village on a peninsula at the mouth of the Rive Lune. It was developed as the port for Lancaster at the beginning of the 18th Century by Robert Lawson a Quaker, ships would unload their cargoes of cotton and slaves here instead of waiting for the tide to take them into Lancaster. The importance on Sunderland as a port declined when Glasson Dock across the Ruiver Lune was opened in 1787. These are two of the house along First Terrace
