The soldierholds in his right hand a large pewter tankard, and turns hishead over his left shoulder, smiling as if about to drink some-ones health. Through an open window on the right appearsa bit of landscape, and on a table are a sword and broad leatherbelt. Signed at the lower right, and dated 8i.
