Pere Navarro i Morera ( Terrassa , December 23, 1959 ) is a Spanish Catalan politician . He was Mayor of Terrassa between 2002 and 2012 , the second democratic city . Degree in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB ) , and member of the Party of Socialists of Catalonia ( PSC ) since 1977. Began his membership in the PSC- Congres in 1977. It was one of the founders of the Socialist Youth Catalonia in Terrassa and in 1982 joined the PSC lists the general election. In 1983 he was responsible for the campaign of the PSC in municipal elections in Terrassa . The September 30, 2012 he was elected as a candidate of Catalonia by the Socialist Party of Catalonia to Parliament elections Cataluñ In those elections earned of the vote and 20 seats , being second force in votes but third in number of seats, these five being the worst results in the history of PSC in regional elections. The November 30, 2012 resigned as mayor of Terrassa to focus on his work in the PSC from the Parliament of Cataluñ From December 17, 2012 he is president of the Socialist Group in the Parliament of Catalonia.
