French visitors, Francophiles and others sample French fare in the Meatpacking District in New York
French visitors, Francophiles and others sample French fare at a traditional French beret toss in the Meatpacking District in New York on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Hosted by D'Artagnan Foods, an importer of gourmet French foods, to celebrate their 25th anniversary, chefs from Gascony in France and from French restaurants in New York tossed their berets in the good natured contest. The beret toss is a tradition in the Gascony village of Saint-Mont. D'Artagnan Foods is a purveyor of gourmet foods and supplies many of the top chefs in the United States. (© Richard B. Levine)
