AVe will give a plan that will be suitable for each method, leaving those interested to choose between them. A self- acting ice-house may be constructed in the usual manner, but requires the addition of ventilating tubes through which cold air may be brought into the cooling room; and drainage pipes by which the water produced by the ^necessary melting of the ice may be off from the bottom into a cold pool where it may be utilized to the best advantage.
