Vauthier marker stone Chateau Thierry Marne Valley France
Paul Moreau-Vauthier was a famous French sculptor and also a veteran of the the Battle of Verdun. He had the idea of installing a series marker stones defining the front of the German line in July 1918 stretching the 650 km from Nieuwpoort through Belgium and France and onto the Swiss border. This marker shows the German front line in July 1918 in Chateau Thierry Marne Valley France before being forced back following the American advances in area including the the Battle of Belleau Wood
