On its outer side it is in relation with the psoasinagnus and iliac fascia. Its branches are:— The deep epigastric {a. epigastrica inferior), arises abovePouparts ligament and ascends obliquely inward between thetransversalis fascia and peritoneum to the rectus muscle, inwhich it ascends to anastomose with the termination of theinternal mammary artery. It gives off:— Cremasteric {a. spermatica externa [male]; a. ligamenti teretisuteri [female]) branch, to supply the cremasteric muscle; Pubic (ramus pubicus), crossing Pouparts ligament to descendto the inner side of the femoral ring, and . Muscular, to supply abdominal muscles and the peritoneum. The deep circumflex iliac {a. circamflexa ilium profunda)ascends outwardly behind Pouparts ligament to the crest of theilium, where it gives off:— Muscular branches, to supply the abdominal muscles.
