Passengers standing on a pathway balcony above the deck ramp of a Chacao Channel vehicle ferry moving towards Pargua, Chile

Vehicle ferries, every 30-35 minutes, provide access to Chiloe across the Canal de Chacao and across the Gulf of Corcovado, to Quellon, on the east side of the island. The journey from Pargua, on the mainland, to Chacao, on the northern tip of the island, takes some 40 minutes, and provides some dramatic views of the Andes Mountains to the east. The ferry in the view is approaching the terminal at Pargua. The perfect cone of Volcan Osorno is seen in the background.
