We miss the scjuirrel to a large ex-tent for he doesnt gad about much inwinter in this locality, as he doesfarther south. Here has gone a mink, and here adeer; no, many deer, and once therethe tracks of these latter are allmixed up around the branches of ayoung balsam or cedar tree. Occasionally one finds the deertracks following the track of a skirunner, or snowshoer, and not viceversa. And often if these humanshad paused and lain low, they mighthave
