Wasp Beetle; Clytus arietus


This insect is wasp-like, both in terms of being black and yellow in appearance but also in its behaviour. Flies mostly in sunny weather and often visits hedgerows and garden flowers. Seen May­ to July. Widespread and often common in Britain and Ireland.
