The camp,or barracks, as it is locally known, is reached by steamcars, which run trains every hour, and by the main line ofthe Atlanta Traction Companys system. WATER WORKS. The water works system of Atlanta, which has re-cently been completed at a cost of $750,000 is said not to be. The first station is a fine brick building ofample dimensions located beneath a high bluff near the bank of the Chatta-h o o c h e e River,about seven milesfrom the city, andwhich is protectedfrom high waterby a semi-circularembankment abouttwenty feet forty-eight inchsupply pipe extendsfor some distancealong the bank andto the middle ofthe river throughwhich the waterflows into a deepoval well near thestation from whichit is pumped andforced a distance offour miles to thereservoir, which hasan elevation of 250ft. above the river, and a storage capacity of 198,000,000 gals.
