Souvineer sales in Merlion Park on the river bank. The Merlion is the symbol of Singapore as is half lion, half fish. The Merlion statue sits at the mouth of the river to proctect the city. It comes from the first settlers of the island who thought they saw the mythical creature in the jungle that once covered the island.
