He was well-known and wellliked by our marine department employesas well as by others with whom he camein contact on this division. Two of our old employes are on thesick list: Captain Edward Finnegan, ofthe barge Woodmont, whose biographywas given at some length in these columnsa few months ago; also Stewart Sprock,of the tug Baltimore. Captain Phillips of the Rosedale,metwith a very serious accident this month,but we trust he will soon TWEXTY-SIXTH STREET YARD 26th STREET STATION The foundation of the new station andwarehouse is rapidly progressing and ifnothing unforseen happens, the structurewill begin to rise about July first. During the period of excavating re-cently an old canal boat was brought toview. This had been laden down withcobble rocks and sunk a number of yearsago, when the river at that point wasfilled in. Owing to the recent washouts on theline, the yard was free for a time of noisesfamiliar to a chicken farm, but then againthe freight house looked like an automo-bile show. Sam Gilesta has been appointed amember of the Safety Committee. It is with regret that we learn of thedeath of the wife of Harry G. Casey,rate clerk. Mrs. Casey passed away on BALTIMORE AND OHIO EMPLOYES MAGAZINE 21 Friday morning the 25th, after an illnessof two months. Lawrence 0.
