Sunny view flat V weir river flow gauging station, downstream from Flood Barrier, River Wyre, Garstang, Lancashire, UK


This flat V weir was installed across the River Wyre at Garstang in 1969. It measure the River Wyre's discharge, with reference to the Garstang inake, immediately upstream, where water is taken out of the Wyre and sent to the Franklaw Water Treatment Plant at Catterall, downstream, then put into the public water supply. It also measures the overspill from the Garstang Flood Barrier, immediately upstream.
