Grave of Donn Fulton Eisele (1930-1987), NASA astronaut and United States Air Force (USAF) pilot. Eisele entered the USAF after graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1952. He served as a test pilot, being selected as part of NASA's Astronaut Group 3 in October 1963. He was the Command Module Pilot for Apollo 7, the first manned test flight of NASA's missions to the Moon. Eisele retired in 1972, dying of a heart attack 15 years later aged 57. The headstone refers to military service related to both the Korean War (1950-1953) and the Vietnam War (1955-1975). Photographed at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, USA.
