A dozen tractors have arrived in Madrid this Wednesday from Extremadura to claim solutions for farmers and ranchers in the countryside. Summoned by the Apag Extremadura Asaja organization, they have stopped in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, on the Paseo de la Infanta Isabel, on the corner of the Atocha roundabout. In this Ministry, the agrarian organization has left a letter with its demands, which has also been sent to the Second Vice-presidency and portfolio of Social Services. Some of the problems that the field has been denouncing for years are the low prices at source, the cut they perceive in the CAP and the tightening of environmental requirements. The participants in this Extremaduran tract justify trying to raise awareness about the critical situation that professionals in the field are going through, where they denounce that many farms are being closed every day, while legislating with their backs to the sector. As a program, the tract is scheduled to resume its path this Wednesday, the 17th, at hours from Torrijos, to arrive at Humanes at around , and from there reach the Ministry at approximately hours of Agriculture, where once the claims have been delivered, they will go to the Ministry of Social Rights. The president of the agrarian organization, Juan Metidieri, recalled that the situation that the field is going through "is not easy" for which he thanked the farmers who have joined the cause, despite the fact that "they have to lose one or two days, or whatever is necessary, of working hours to defend the sector ". "We are risking our future, because the situation is dramatic," he pointed out this Tuesday at the beginning of the tract. He has also reiterated the demands of the countryside that, "unfortunately", are "the same as a year ago", when the mobilizations began with "more intensity", because "the problems, instead of being fixed, have worsened."
