Major General Roger Noble, Australian Army, Deputy Commanding General-North was a honored guest during a recent ceremony hosted by Lieutenant General Gary Volesky, commanding general of America's First Corps, to honor the 100 years of Courage of the I Corps, held on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, August 9th, 2018. MAJGEN Noble gave a speech about how Australia and America have a very deep history fighting along and side-by-side with American troops that dates even further back then 100 years. The ceremony was to honor those who served and dedicated themselves over the past 100 years within I Corps. I Corps was activated on January 15th, 1918, in France during World War I, marking a great achievement of 100 years of honor, tradition and courage of units deploying, fighting, winning and innovating in complex wars and missions around the world. The ceremony was followed by a retreat ceremony of the American flag to symbolize the end of celebrations for the “100 years of Courage.”
