ALE-HOP is a European department stores' chain based in Valencia, Spain. Born in Gata de Gorgos (Alicante), Vicente Grimalt, the brand's founder and managing director, began selling products from his home town on the street in 1968, including carrier bags and hats. In 1990, he founded Clave Denia , which was dedicated to wholesale. Grimalt then created the "ALE-HOP" brand and opened the first shop on Calle Paz in Valencia. There are now also branches in Portugal, Croatia, Italy and Mexico
