American soldiers returning home after the signing of the armistice in World War One are greeted with a warm welcome from women of the Red Cross canteen service and two bands. The soldiers arrived on the Mauretania on December 1, 1918. This photograph was taken by Lt. Geo. Lyon on December 9, 1918 and approved by the censor on December 13, 1918.
