The 154,000 square foot facihty will become a processing plant for cranberry drinks and grapefruit juice and will supply the area's needs for cranberry sauce. Harold Thorkilsen, Ocean Spray president, noted that Sulphur Springs was selected as the site for the new processing operation because of its central location and "excellent" transportation facilities, both motor and rail. He praised the community's business and civic leaders for being "extremely helpful and cooperative," singling out particularly Dave Jackson, executive director of the Hop- kins County Chamber of Commerce. Ocean Spray, marketing NEW PRODUCT Monsanto Co. has published a second edition of "The Chemical Facts of Life," a 16 page booklet that looks at the benefits and risks of chemicals in everyday life. The new edition also examines the history, use and misuse and test- ing procedures involving chemicals. In addition it reflects the comments and opinions of environmentalists, labor unions and other groups. The booklet is available free of charge cooperative for more than 700 cranberry farmers and 100 grapefruit growers, currently operates major processing plants in Middleborough, Mass., Borden- town, , Kenosha, Wise, and Markham, Wash., as well as a citrus concentrating facility in Vero Beach, Fla.
