The three choir windows of the Tholey Abbey Church designed by the artist Gerhard Richter are known as the Richter windows. Abstract motifs were realised on the three large windows, each with a height of m and a width of m. Tholey Abbey is the oldest monastery in Germany. It was first mentioned in a document in 634 and today houses 12 monks from five nations aged between 24 and 75.
