Gypsum crystals. These rosette-shaped crystal groups of gypsum (calcium sulphate, CaSO4) have formed in a crack or void inside a rhyolitic (composed of rhyolite) matrix rock (red). The individual rosettes are around 10 millimetres in diameter.
