The Hydraulic Ram.—This device, although very wasteful of water,is-one of the most economical motors for pumping water. It serves bothas a motor and a pump. It is not only used for furnishing water for thefarm house, barn and dairy, but it is used in many cases for irrigationpurposes. Only about one-tenth of the water passing through a ram.
