Borders landmark standing on rocky outcrop above the Tweed valley. Built in 15th Century for Pringle family in area that was repeatedly raided in border raids. Later sold to the Scotts of Harden, ancestors of Sir Walter Scott who stayed at the nearby farmhouse of Sandyknowe.
