The abdomen is composed of three segments, two short onesanterior to the terminal segment, which is produced posteriorly to anarrow rounded extremity. Two specimens, a male and a fe-male (the female is described andfigured) were collected at station the way from Bowers Bank to Petrel Bank, Bering Sea, at Semi-sopochnoi Island, r. t. S. 45° W., 1. 12° W., about 12 miles (lat. 52° 12N.; long. 179° 52 E.), at a depth of43 fathoms in fine black gravel. This species is very close to Arctu-rus glaber Benedict ° from BeringSea, but differs in the shorter andmore thickset body; in the shortersecond antennae; in the shorter ab-domen, with the apex less pointed;in the shorter fourth segment ofthe thorax; and in having the threelongitudinal bands of yellow on thebody.
