Young, Town Clerk; Lea Vaughn,Assessor and Collector ; Mr. Holden, Superintendent ofSchools. William Griffin was the Postmaster, and he had to managesome way to get the mail from Plover, as there was no postroute to this place. A school-house was erected in 1849, at a cost of $300 ;it was reported in September, 1850, that there were sixty-sixchildren in attendance upon the school; thirty-six boys and46 John Campbell, successors to Robert Bloomer.
